Welcome to Australian Manual Physical Therapy

Owner and Founder, Angus Williams, PT graduated as a Physiotherapist in his native Australia in 1993 and moved to Hawaii in July of 1995 – for a year! Five years in private practice in Hawaii, one year as a Clinic Director in Denver, Colorado, 4 years at the University of Michigan in a clinical and teaching role and several years working in private practice have given me a myriad of experiences to draw on in building the ideal clinics. The primary treatment approach of Australian Manual Physical Therapy is the practice of Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy (OMT) at the expertise level of a specialist.

OMT has a long and trusted tradition in mainstream medicine and is used on occasion by many Osteopaths. Unfortunately, the evolution of health care today has made the specialty practice in OMT a rarity. We consider our practice to be the next level of care. Patients most appropriate for our practice include those with acute pain and those who have not responded to other types of care, including surgery.

Therapeutic Methods

We use a variety of proven therapeutic methods—or modalities—to do this. These modalities help create an optimal environment for injury repair by regulating the inflammatory process and stopping the pain-spasm cycle. Your supervising therapist will select the proper modalities based on his or her discretion, as well as the type and severity of the injury.
